People ask me what kind of Mic, Mixer or other equipment they need for podcasting. So here is a list of things I’ve used and recommend.
The Mac Daddy Package (Stuff I use)
Heil PR40 Microphone

You will also need some cables.
You need 1 insert cable (or 2) depending on how many mics you have. This will connect the compressor/limiter to the mixer. Find them here:Hosa STP203 TRS To Dual 1/4 Cable 9.75 Ft
You will also need an XLR Cable(s) for the mic(s) to the mixer: Your Cable Store XLR 3 Pin Microphone Cable (6 feet)
You will need a couple of these cables. 1 for the mixer to the computer, One to the recorder from the mixer: Dynex 3.5 mm Mini to RCA Stereo Audio Cable – 6-Feet – 1.8 M and one more if you want to also bring in sounds from the computer. (you can never have too many of these… They are cheap)
Get at least 2 of these (4 would be better) to adapt the cable above to the mixer inputs/outputs. They are cheap so make sure you have enough: Hosa Cable GPR101 RCA To 1/4 Inch TS Adaptor – 2 Pack
The last thing you need is a good set of headphones. I won’t link to any because each person has their own preferences. I use Sony over the ear unless I’m doing video, then I use my iphone earbuds.
The cheaper (but good) stuff
To use either of the 2 mics above with a digital recorder, use this cable: XLR Jack to Stereo 3.5mm Mini Plug Audio Cable 6ft
I’m working on adding more here. If you find something you like, let me know and I will add it to this list.
***Note: The links above (most of them) are Amazon Affiliate links in which I will get a commission on. It won’t cost you any more to buy it than it would have if you went to Amazon directly. Thanks for helping me out!
*** ALSO, if you find it cheaper somewhere else, buy it where it’s cheaper and give me a link so I can replace the link here. That way we all get the best prices possible. ***
